June Parkinson
Co-opted Councillor

I came to live in Llanwrtyd Wells in 1991 and having enjoyed almost 30 years of being part of this exceptional community. I like to think that I can put back some part of which I have received.

I have previously been an active member of the Town Council, and Town Mayor twice. My priorities were, and remain, to retain and improve as many services and amenities as possible for our community. I played an active role in the re-establishment of Post Office Services in the Garage, as well as overseeing the refurbishment of the Pavilion.

Llanwrtyd won the “Village of the Year” Award during my first term of office, and it was truly rewarding to see the process bring together so many of the different groups and clubs that actively operate and involve so many people.

I am now actively involved in the Abergwesyn Community as well as the Llanwrtyd Wells Community Transport Project and look forward to contributing to these together with activities and projects within the town, and to liaising between all three.

Those people who know me will be familiar with my passion for dogs (of the rescued variety – a girl can never have too many!), ponies (ditto) and the outdoor life in general.
